PRCG CEO James F. Haggerty was also ranked as one of the top litigation PR professionals in the United States. The listing called Haggerty “a powerhouse” who “thinks on a different level than most PRs.”

The ranking noted Haggerty’s background as a lawyer, stating “having been a lawyer, he brings a double barrel of legal and media experience” to legal matters. In addition to his work as a communications consultant, Haggerty is also a practicing lawyer and serves as lead lawyer in a proposed class action brought against the United Nations on behalf of victims of a cholera plague introduced in Haiti by UN peacekeepers in 2010. That case is currently before the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York.

The Chambers review also recognized Haggerty’s landmark book on litigation PR, In the Court Of Public Opinion (ABA Books, 2009), now in its second edition, which is considered the leading book in the field. Haggerty’s new book Chief Crisis Officer: Structure and Leadership for Effective Communications Response was published in 2017 and has been featured in the Harvard Business Review, FORTUNE and Entrepreneur.

In 2017, Haggerty was honored by PR News as one of its “50 Game-Changers of PR” for his landmark work as “a trailblazer of litigation PR.”
