Former HBO Sports Exec Jim Rocco Joins PRCG | Sports Team

PRCG | Sports combines deep expertise in representing sports owners, brands and venues with PRCG’s internationally recognized capabilities in crisis communications and other sensitive reputational challenges.

PRCG | Haggerty LLC​​ is pleased to announce​​ the hiring of Jim Rocco, formerly of HBO Sports and the renowned Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, as Senior Consultant and Director of PRCG’s new sports marketing group, PRCG | Sports.

With an eye toward expanding its growing sports portfolio, PRCG | Sports will be enhancing its presence in sports-related fields by offering strategic public relations and marketing services to meet client needs, ranging from reputation management and brand positioning, to product launches and events, to individual representation of athletes and other high-profile sports figures.

PRCG | Sports will also focus on sports-related crisis communications and litigation communications, where the firm is known worldwide. The New York Times recently recognized PRCG for its ability to provide “sophisticated” “round-the-clock” global PR services to clients.

“I’ve known Jim Rocco for nearly two decades, and I have no doubt he will be a valued addition to our sports-related practice,” said PRCG CEO James F. Haggerty. “Jim’s love and knowledge of sports and the business of sports will prove to be a great asset to our firm.”

Jim’s experience includes more than 15 years at HBO Sports, working on a myriad of sports-related issues, including boxing, football, golf and other programming. He worked with programs such as Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, On The Record with Bob CostasInside the NFL and Hard Knocks. Jim has also served as Director of Marketing at Barclays Center, one of the premier sports and entertainment destinations in the United States. In that role, he devised innovative sports marketing campaigns for a variety of events, including professional boxing matches and NCAA basketball tournaments.
