PRCG has now been ranked as a top litigation communications firm every year since the list’s introduction in 2018.

As described over the years in the annual Chambers guides, PRCG is known for its “tailored counsel and bespoke PR responses” to sensitive communications issues. Over the years, the firm has also been lauded in the guide for the “enormous care, attention and passion” it brings to each of its assignments, as well as for the creation of “remarkable content” in support of litigation and crisis communications issues.

Attorney and author James F. Haggerty, who leads the firm, was also ranked as one of the top public relations professionals in the United States. Haggerty is one of only three communications professionals in the US to be ranked in each year of the list’s existence. The listing has noted Haggerty is “a powerhouse,” and “the consummate professional” with “a great depth of understanding in litigation and legal matters.”

The Chambers reviews have also recognized Haggerty’s landmark book on litigation communications, In the Court Of Public Opinion (Hart + Harvest Press, 2022), now in its updated third edition, which is considered the leading book in the field. Haggerty is also the author of Chief Crisis Officer: Structure and Leadership for Effective Communications Response (Hart + Harvest Paperback Edition, 2023), which has been featured in the Harvard Business Review, FORTUNE magazine, and Entrepreneur, among other publications.

In 2023 Haggerty was named by Business Insider as one of “18 top public-relations experts CEOs scramble to hire in a crisis.” In 2017, he was honored by PR News as one of its “50 Game-Changers of PR” for his landmark work as “a trailblazer of litigation PR.”

In addition to his work in litigation, crisis communications, and reputation management, Haggerty is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida.
