  • Biography

    Based in Atlanta, Christian Koenig is a Senior Consultant to PRCG and also the founder of Koenig Communications.

    Prior to returning to full-time consulting, Christian Koenig oversaw product, corporate, manufacturing facilities, motorsport and sponsorships, and crisis communications while Vice President Public Relations and Executive Committee member at Porsche Cars North America. He led coast-to-coast communications introducing the company’s first, all-electric sports car, the Taycan, steered all public relations activities for the iconic 911 and revived film and television product placement for the famous car maker.

    As Senior Vice President and Head of Corporate Affairs for ThyssenKrupp, a global technology and materials group, Christian directed media and government relations and managed internal and crisis communications for 60 group companies across North America. In his previous role as President and Chief Communications Officer for the company’s 30 U.S. subsidiaries, he established the firm’s Washington office and led communications for site selection of a $5 billion greenfield manufacturing facility, the largest foreign direct investment in the U.S. in 25 years. Christian joined ThyssenKrupp as Group spokesperson responsible for executive board and international media relations.

    Previously, Christian was a senior manager, Corporate Affairs for Eastern Europe and Asia at Reemtsma, where he oversaw government relations for the world’s fourth-largest tobacco manufacturer.

    Christian began his communications career as an issues manager for Shell Germany. Prior to that position, he worked as Chief of Staff for the German Parliament and as research analyst for BusinessWeek. He holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science, Modern History and Constitutional Law from the University of Bonn, Germany.
